Many thanks to The Attfield Theatre for providing the venue for THE GREAT FOOD DEBATE on Friday, 13th July.

This promises to be a most fascinating event and an opportunity for a respectful debate sharing a variety of perspectives on the many issues surrounding food in the Owestry and Borderlands, but which also deeply reflects global concerns too!

        Church Stretton Food Fayre      

The Church Stretton Food Fayre is a unique and family-friendly celebration of eating and drinking. It features local agricultural produce, healthy eating, good cooking and the distinguished foodstuff and drinks of local independent producers. The Fayre was first held amid the spectacular hills and vales of the Shropshire Hills in 2003.

Food stalls are supplemented by crafts, entertainments, countryside demonstrations, children's activities, music and dance. Last year, over 100 food and craft exhibitors took part, so allow plenty of time and bring an appetite! The Church Stretton Walking Festival is an integral part of the Fayre but is now held in June, when early summer weather conditions are more suitable.
